Bio

I’m excited to be a part of Ashburn CrossFit! I was first drawn to CF when I saw WODs worked from a neighborhood garage. Finally, I stopped my minivan, asked what they were doing, and if I could join them! I was hooked! It’s always a challenge, always changing, and never dull! I used to exercise by myself, but now I appreciate the camaraderie that comes from WODing with friends. They keep you moving and cheer you on! Before CrossFit, I was a runner and a biker, and I came into the box with very little strength beyond my legs. I could not handle a single pushup. There is always something to work on, but I’m a devoted CrossFitter because of what I have already gained. CrossFit keeps me fit in so many ways to handle whatever life brings. My girls call me CrossFit Mom! I take pride in showing them that women are strong and capable with both physical and mental grit.   I got into coaching because I love teaching! I taught fourth grade and 7th grade science for LCPS. I left to have more time for my family, but I MISSED TEACHING. So what better way to bring two of my favorites together, than to coach Cross Fit! Since setting my sights on coaching, I’ve earned my L1 and L2 with CrossFit, CrossFit Kids Certification, a Kettle Bell cert with CrossFit, and certifications in sports nutirition and nutrition coaching.  My favorite WODs include rowing, dead lifts, or goblet squats. Maybe not all together though. My least favorite include burpees or double unders, or 50 reps of anything.
